Ethereal and surreal, River of Lost Souls is a haunting paramour’s dreamscape of evanescent textures, awakening the sentries of the heart with mystical Native American poetry interwoven among flutes, drums and neo-psychedelic guitar riffs that echo through the canyons of the mind like lost voices from another world -- Heetíh-néé'eesoo-'.

Background
Inspired by Clark's Amazon Top Selling western horror mystery novel “Dead Balance”, the music and lyrics of "River of Lost Souls" continues a spiritual journey that began with “Logan’s Lament” and “In My Dream” into a surreal shadow world where Grammys® Recording Academy Artist Gary Wayne Clark (Earamas®; Rise of the Chimera & Passage to Niburu) weaves his musical vision quest.

The Ancient Ones believe that based on our deeds in this world, some spirits are imprisoned in a purgatory like existence between worlds, side by side, within multiple dimensions. When loved ones seeking atonement are taken too soon from this world and forced to cross over, part of their penitence leaves them trapped between worlds, desperately clinging to soul mates left behind. As their song of lover’s lament attempts to hold back the wheel of time, their eternal bond lingers in the ether of fleeting desperation. For now, they are but Wind Talkers, grasping for each other in the mist of dreams and those ephemeral moments the between the shadow and the light, between the iridescent hues of twilight and dawn.
Native American proverbs teach us, “Day and night can’t live together,” and “There can be no rainbow without our tears.” True, but I choose to believe that for some of us, “Dreams are the truth, until we awaken.” And as Henry David Thoreau opined, “Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake.” I’m with HDT on this one..

And special thanks to Alexandra Clark and Shilo Stroman for awesome guitar and drum cuts on River of Lost Souls! But who will play their parts in the Dead Balance film with soundtrack? I will be auditioning for the part of the, well, the body that is not currently alive..

 Lyrics
Your love has cast a spell on me
It took every thing I had
I can’t hide from my darker side
Good intentions turn to bad

They said our love was terminal
But I whisper it’s untrue
This love of ours is written in the stars
Death can’t keep my heart from you

In dreams we’ll live forever
Where broken hearts are whole
Restitution wash away my sins
In a river of lost souls

Yesterday I swore my love was true
Now my words just echo back
Holding on to our days bygone
As the memories fade to black

I hear a thousand voices
Only one to me is true
The love I send lingers in the wind
Eternally for you

In dreams we’ll live forever
Where broken hearts are whole
Restitution wash away my sins
In a river of lost souls

[Arapaho Prayer]

Beehiiniisonoonibéíhin                              [Father of all]
Cih'oonohooyobéi'ee                                   [Watch over us!]
Kookóu'unei(hii)                                          [Please]
Heetíh-néé'eesoo-'                                       [We ask that it be so]
Nohuusóho'                                                   [Amen]

My heart is calling out to you
My heart beats to your distant drum
My heart forever is for you
Eternity has just begun

My heart is calling out to you
My heart beats to your distant drum
My heart forever is for you
Eternity has just begun..

Epilog..
